Kathryn Barber, RN

Kathryn Barber is the Chief Nursing Officer, overseeing all nursing services provided by CapRock Health. She proudly serves on the Executive Board as the spokesperson and advocate for all CapRock nurses and participates as a voting member of the Nurse Staffing Committee. She also works alongside the Chief Medical Officer and Facility Medical Directors to ensure that in all aspects of the patient experience, CapRock Health’s exceptional standards are continually met. As the Facility Administrator of CapRock Hospital, Kathryn oversees daily operations of the facility and provides oversight and guidance to the management team.

Kathryn considers herself fortunate to have been among the very first employees hired to work alongside Dr. Andy Wilson and Dr. Lon Young to help bring the CapRock dream to life and is extremely proud to be a part of the organization and its growth. Throughout her nursing career, Kathryn has found reward in going above and beyond for every patient she encounters and seeks to achieve excellence in all aspects of patient care.

Kathryn is a lifelong resident of Bryan-College Station and the surrounding communities and is the proud daughter of two Fighting Texas Aggie Alumni. She graduated from Navasota High School in 1995 and began her college career at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. At SFA,Kathryn eagerly pursued a degree in Art and Interior Design. However, following an impactful life experience, she had a change of heart which led her to desire a profession in healthcare. Kathryn then began the search for a healthcare-related career that would afford her the opportunity to help others in their greatest time of need, to make a personal and lasting impression, and ultimately the chance to make a difference in the lives of people every day. In 2004, she was accepted into the nursing program at Blinn College, and the rest is history. After a year of working in a busy medical practice, she accepted a job in the Emergency Department at College Station Medical Center where she worked for nine years before joining the CapRock Team. During her hospital career, Kathryn also worked in Newborn Nursery, Delivery, Pediatrics, and NICU
