Emergency Medical Services
We offer all typical ER services to accommodate any emergency. We have the latest in testing capabilities, advanced medical equipment and a full pharmacy – to get our patients better fast.
Our COLA certified laboratory helps our physicians make accurate diagnoses from lab results obtained within minutes.
Just a few of the lab tests we can perform:
- Complete Blood Count (CBC) to evaluate for infection or anemia
- Complete Metabolic Panel (CMP) to evaluate metabolic function and electrolyte levels
- Function Tests (Kidney, Liver, and Pancreas)
- Cardiac Enzymes (Troponin) to detect heart damage in conditions such as heart attack
- D-dimer to diagnose Pulmonary Embolism (PE) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Urinalysis to detect kidney problems or urinary tract infections (UTI)
- Pregnancy Test
- Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Screen
- Influenza Screen
- Rapid Strep Screen
- Blood Gas Levels to detect problems with respiration and oxygenation
- Lactate Level to diagnose sepsis in critically ill patients
All imaging studies are read immediately by board certified radiologists, day and night. This provides our doctors with the information they need to quickly make an accurate diagnosis. A digital copy of each study is then provided on a CD that can be viewed on any PC. These can be kept for personal records or shared with another doctor.
CT scans improve diagnostic capabilities by providing images of internal organs in amazing detail. Our CT scanner, the Toshiba Aquilion RXL, is one of the most advanced scanners on the market and the only one in our area, drastically reducing radiation exposure while maintaining the highest image quality. “The balance of image quality and radiation dose is the fundamental challenge for physicians in performing routine clinical examinations while adhering to the ALARA principle. With the integration of AIDR 3D* into Exposure controls, the radiation exposure is automatically reduced before the scan ensuring the lowest dose is given for the diagnostic task at hand, no matter what the size or shape of the patient.” – Yasuo Nobuta, General Manager, CT Systems Division, Toshiba Medical Systems
While less detailed than CT scans, digital x-rays offer the advantage of very low radiation exposure while still providing the information necessary for many diagnoses. Our skilled technicians can obtain all the digital x-ray images needed in an ER, either in our very private radiology suite or in the comfort of the patient’s room using our portable digital x-ray machines.
With the advantage of producing no ionizing radiation, ultrasound is the right tool for many conditions, especially for evaluating problems with early pregnancy (less than 20 weeks gestation), gallbladder disease, blood clots, etc. In the hands of our expert technicians, our advanced ultrasound produces the highest quality images.
Whether the condition requires an antibiotic, pain medication, a critical care pharmaceutical, or cardiac medication, we have them readily available.
Our state licensed ER pharmacy includes all the medications needed to treat almost any emergency, which are immediately available just steps away from the nursing station.
We can diagnose, treat and discharge the vast majority of our patients. We care about our patients’ entire experience, and should hospitalization be required, we work to coordinate admission directly to an inpatient room, avoiding an unnecessary, repeat ER visit and the associated bill.
Should a patient require hospitalization, we work to coordinate a seamless transfer to a local hospital. We have relationships with all local hospitals, admitting doctors, and specialists.
